Every neighborhood is filled with plenty of nice, decent, mostly hard-working citizens just like yourself. They are not the ones we need to worry about. Or, are they? We got hammered - almost cleaned out - by the teenager across the street. While her Mother was playing lookout!
Of course the local law enforcement would have a hard time linking the Mom to the crime. And the overall loss was of such insignificance as to render this crime unworthy of prosecution. At worst these teenage drug addicts / burglars would have received a few months behind bars - even more likely would be a probationary slap on the hand. While the Mom continues to live in her free rent low income subsidized housing.
Don't let this happen to you. Secure your property. Your neighbors may be as nice as they come. And they still might not see the little twerps who break through your open window in a matter of minutes. They may not see the all too familiar sight of another neighbor's car carrying off your hard-earned possessions.
